Data Sovereignty: Implications for Education with Omid Mirzaei
Thursday February 13, 2025 9:30am - 10:45am CST
My research is in regional economics and focuses on spatial distributions of regional economic activity. I use spatial econometric models, geospatial analytics, and input-output models to study spatial externalities and spillover effects between regional economies. Most of my research revolves around economics of Indigenous peoples.
Current research projects are focused on First Nations economic development through investigating First Nations spending patterns, economic leakage, First Nations governments investment strategies, and economic interdependencies between Indigenous communities and their neighbours.
